Tube hydroforming is chiefly the relative freedom to change the cross sectional shape of a tube to suit differing loading conditions along the length of a part. It often delivers high value and there are several ways to cause reshaping. Forming complexity can be high without high forming pressure or cost.
There are a number of other tube-like structures in the passenger vehicles that seem likely to gain advantages from being hydroformed. Challenges may be high, but we are able to rise to it.
