Everyone wants to know what hydroforming can do for them. It is more important to balance value added features with the cost of achieving them. Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is always on the mind of designers. They want to take best advantage of what hydroforming can do, but not to add cost without realizing. Since hydroforming is an additional operation it inherently adds cost. So it must deliver sufficient value to justify the cost. There are many situations where it delivers far more.
Therefore a designer needs to maximize the value added features, but with attention to the cost if it is higher.
